Dyslexia 101

A presentation designed for parents, caregivers, and interested community members. During this presentation, participants will deepen their understanding of dyslexia including how it is defined, the signs of dyslexia, and effective classroom assessment and instruction. In addition, participants will gain strategies for effective conversations with school leaders. Attendees will also learn about the new Virginia Literacy Act and the resources available in the state of Virginia. Speakers include Heather Fleming, Tracy Hastings, and Kristin Kane. Each speaker brings their unique knowledge and expertise to this presentation. Dyslexia 101 is supported by the Ruth Harris Family Foundation at Virginia Commonwealth University.
